How we collect, use, protect and delete your data

1. In short
- When you use Story Circle, your account, content, usage and interaction, device and security data are recorded.
- We use this data to provide the Service, keep it secure, improve the product, for analytics and to develop artificial intelligence models.
- We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.
- You can delete your account at any time and download a copy of your data for free.
- Legal details (purposes, legal bases, transfers, your rights) are in the KVKK Privacy Notice.
2. What we collect
The full list of data categories is in Section 2 of the KVKK Privacy Notice. In summary: the information you give at sign-up; everything you write and share; how you use the app (which days you open it, what you read and how far you get, what you write, what you interact with, whether you open notifications); technical records about your device and connection. Actions in the Service are recorded together with their time.
3. How we use it
- Running the Service: your account, books, writing slots and notifications.
- Security: detecting cheating, bots, multiple accounts and abuse; debugging.
- Product improvement and analytics: measuring how features are used, finding problems, designing and testing new features.
- Personalisation: recommending books and content that suit you.
- Artificial intelligence: developing and training AI models, including content review, the writing assistant and story generation models. For training, data is separated from information that directly identifies you; data of users under 18 is not used.
- Moderation and legal obligations.
4. Website and cookies
Our website does not use cookies and does not load third-party analytics or advertising tools. Visit statistics are collected on our own server using a temporary ID kept for the browser session and a daily-changing, one-way hashed visitor key; the raw IP address is not stored. The mobile app contains no third-party advertising or tracking tools.
5. App permissions
The app asks for notification permission only to send notifications; you can turn it off at any time in your device settings. When you upload a profile photo or cover, only the image you choose is accessed.
6. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS); passwords are stored irreversibly; access to systems is limited to authorised people and privileged actions are logged. No system is completely risk-free; if a data breach occurs we notify the Board and affected people as required by law.

8. Account deletion
You can delete your account in the app via Settings → Delete account. On deletion your sessions, notifications, lists, notes, reading history, blocks, follows, likes, drafts, ratings, date of birth, profile photo and per-person usage records are deleted, and your account is anonymised as "Deleted user". Your published chapters, comments and messages remain because they are part of shared books and conversations. Your SC balance is deleted.
9. Children
The Service is not intended for people under 15, and people under 15 cannot open an account. Users under 18 are not shown content unsuitable for their age; their content and data are not used to train AI models.
10. Changes and contact
When we update this policy we change the update date and announce important changes within the Service. You can send questions and KVKK requests via Profile → Settings → Send feedback. Data controller: Code2B.
